My default is to back bend , "banana back"🍌, you can see my attempts to keep my compensations in check. . . ⬅️as you dip your head back , can you do it without back bending? ⬅️work the "double chin". can you maintain integrity and strength in the upper abdominals while working the deep neck flexors (neck abs) even in cervical extension? . . . This exercise will help you strengthen your neck in flexion and extension, which translates as nodding your head yes. It is important that your neck is strong in this direction of movement, because it helps you lift your head off of the floor when curling forward during core work or moving into extension during poses such as Locust Pose. . . Also, oftentimes neck tension can stem from neck weakness, so engaging these muscles can actually help your neck feel more relaxed. . .
